Senate Resolution No. 4361

COMMENDING Stacy-Ann Gooden upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition by East
Flatbush Village, Inc. on April 19, 2018

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Stacy-Ann Gooden has given not only of her time and
energies but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently has been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Stacy-Ann
Gooden upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
East Flatbush Village, Inc. to be celebrated at its Ten Year Anniversary
Event on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at the Tropical Paradise Ballroom in
Brooklyn, New York; and

WHEREAS, Established in 2008, East Flatbush Village, Inc. diligently
works to uplift its Neighbors with Neighbors; this vital not-for-profit
organization provides programs for young people and provides resources
to the entire family which in turn will repair the community; and

WHEREAS, Born in Jamaica, Stacy-Ann Gooden earned her bachelor's
degree from St. John's University, and majored in Geoscience at
Mississippi State University; and

WHEREAS, Today, Stacy-Ann Gooden is a meteorologist for NY1; she
previously worked at several stations in the New York metropolitan area
including WNYW, WRNN-TV, and the News 12 Networks; and

WHEREAS, Stacy-Ann Gooden has been called upon to contribute her
time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of herself unstintingly; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Stacy-Ann Gooden has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Stacy-Ann Gooden has
displayed throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Stacy-Ann Gooden upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by East Flatbush Village, Inc. on April 19, 2018;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Stacy-Ann Gooden.
