HONORING The Red Osier Landmark Restaurant of
Stafford, New York, upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the 2016 Special Service
Recognition of the Year Award by the Genesee County
Chamber of Commerce on March 4, 2017

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are enhanced by the concerned and dedicated efforts of business
organizations and individuals that generously contribute to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
The Red Osier Landmark Restaurant of Stafford, New York, upon the
occasion of its designation as recipient of the 2016 Special Service
Recognition of the Year Award by the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce
on Saturday, March 4, 2017; and

WHEREAS, The Red Osier Landmark Restaurant is receiving this
auspicious award for its continued growth and commitment to Genesee
County; and

WHEREAS, In October of 2016, Steven Foster and Timothy Adams
purchased The Red Osier Landmark Restaurant to save a local landmark and
local jobs in their community; and

WHEREAS, Today, The Red Osier Landmark Restaurant is considered a
premier dining destination in Western New York; the owners have
incorporated local fruits and vegetables grown in Genesee County into
their menu offerings; they also added decor featuring local antiques,
pictures and milk bottles to highlight the heritage of the community;
and

WHEREAS, Dedicated to their community, Steven Foster and Timothy
Adams have donated and volunteered at many organizations within the
Genesee County community, including The Genesee County 4H Program and
the 2016 Batavia's Go Art In the Park Festival; they also donated an
entire catered dinner to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life
local cancer survivor's dinner in Bergen; and

WHEREAS, They also helped at other community events such as the
Summer Kickoff Classic Horseshoe Competition at Genesee County
Fairgrounds, the Genesee County Fair Queen Pageant, Michael Napoleon
Memorial Fundraiser, and the 2016 Oatka Festival in Leroy; and

WHEREAS, Businesses such as The Red Osier Landmark Restaurant exert
a strong, positive influence on the communities they serve and are a
crucial element on the economy of New York State; and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business and its contributions to the
local and State economies, fully confident that it will continue to

enjoy the sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor The Red Osier Landmark Restaurant of Stafford, New York, upon the
occasion of its designation as recipient of the 2016 Special Service
Recognition of the Year Award by the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce
on March 4, 2017; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Steven Foster and Timothy Adams, Owners, The Red Osier
Landmark Restaurant.
