COMMENDING Alice Fiacco upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition after more than
27 years of dedicated service to the Endwell Fire
Department

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those
individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Alice
Fiacco upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition
after more than 27 years of dedicated service to the Endwell Fire
Department; she will officially retire on March 31, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Alice Fiacco served as the Administrative Assistant for the
Endwell Fire District for many years and most recently as the Executive
Assistant, and the Secretary for both the Broome County Firefighters
Association and the Broome County Fire Advisory Board; and

WHEREAS, The safety of the many firefighters who passed through
Endwell's doors was always her number one priority; and

WHEREAS, Alice Fiacco created the Broome Fire News, in which she has
edited and produced over the past 23 years, as well as
www.BroomeFire.com, the Broome Fire website; and

WHEREAS, Alice Fiacco has managed the Fire Safety Trailer for
training youth on fire prevention; and

WHEREAS, In 2010, Alice Fiacco was selected as the New York State
Senate Woman of Distinction for the 52nd Senate District; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Alice Fiacco has displayed
throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, During her tenure with the Endwell Fire Department, Alice
Fiacco earned the admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues;
and

WHEREAS, In her retirement, Alice Fiacco plans on watching her
beloved New York Mets, and spending time with her family; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention it is appropriate to publicly commend those individuals for
the edification and emulation of others; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Alice Fiacco upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition after more than 27 years of dedicated service to the Endwell
Fire Department; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Alice Fiacco.
