HONORING Dr. Keith Pomakoy upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by the
Sullivan County Democrat 2018 Men at Work Edition

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Keith Pomakoy has given not only of his time and
energies but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently has been designated for special recognition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Dr. Keith
Pomakoy upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by
the Sullivan County Democrat 2018 Men at Work Edition; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Narrowsburg, New York, Dr. Keith Pomakoy
earned his Ph.D. in International History from the State University of
New York at Albany; and

WHEREAS, For 20 years, Dr. Keith Pomakoy has worked in collegiate
administration; he began his career as an Associate Vice President of
Instruction at Spartanburg Community College, and then served as Interim
Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs at Raritan Valley Community
College; and

WHEREAS, Today, Dr. Keith Pomakoy holds the title of Vice President
of Academic and Student Affairs at SUNY Sullivan; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Keith Pomakoy has been a vital member of his local fire
and ambulance companies for many years; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his professional and
community service, a period of constructive involvement, Dr. Keith
Pomakoy has stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, When he is not working or helping someone, Dr. Keith
Pomakoy enjoys reading books about history and is a huge fan of J.R.R.
Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings; he also loves to spend time with his
family, especially while on vacation at the National Seashore on Cape
Cod; and

WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Marisha, and his
four children, Aidan, Brighton, Keith, and Natasha, all of whom have
shown him love and support and rejoice in his many achievements; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dr. Keith Pomakoy upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Sullivan County Democrat 2018 Men at Work Edition;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dr. Keith Pomakoy.
