HONORING Mary Plummer upon the occasion of her
retirement after 24 years of distinguished service
as an Oswego businesswoman
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Mary Plummer upon the occasion of her retirement after many years of
distinguished service as a baker and caterer for Aunt Mary's Italian
Cooking and Catering in Oswego; and
WHEREAS, For 24 years, Mary Plummer has been providing home-baked
goods and catering services to the Oswego community; and
WHEREAS, Mary Plummer started her business with a loan from
Community Development Micro-Enterprise program; and
WHEREAS, Beginning as a home-based business, in 1996 she opened Aunt
Mary's Station Cafe, located in Canal Commons in Oswego; and
WHEREAS, Mary Plummer eventually returned to her home-based business
so she could spend more time with her family and she enjoyed continued
success; and
WHEREAS, Among her many career accomplishments, Mary Plummer has
received the Crystal Award for Excellence from the Oswego Partnership of
Community Development, and the Eagle Award for small businesses; and
WHEREAS, Her unwavering dedication to her customers and her
community and her delicious baking and catering, will be missed by her
many customers; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout her successful career, has been her
husband, Kevin, who has shown her love and support and rejoiced in her
many achievements; and
WHEREAS, Despite her retirement, Mary Plummer will continue to serve
her community through her volunteer work for her church and by teaching
cooking classes to young children; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Mary Plummer upon the occasion of her retirement after 24 years of
distinguished service as an Oswego businesswoman; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Mary Plummer.
