COMMENDING Captain Charles Morgan upon the
occasion of his designation for special recognition
by the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) on January
26, 2017

WHEREAS, The men and women who serve as law enforcement officers,
firefighters and emergency medical services personnel, our first
responders, are worthy of recognition for their courage, heroism and
concern for the welfare of the communities they serve regardless of
peril or injury to themselves; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the caring concern and heroic acts of individuals who take
prompt and appropriate action in emergency situations, nobly risking
their own lives in an effort to preserve the life and property of
another; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Captain Charles Morgan upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by the FDNY on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the
Fire Department of New York Headquarters Auditorium, Brooklyn, New York;
and

WHEREAS, In his role as Captain, Charles Morgan is being recognized
for his hard work, dedication and commitment to public service; and

WHEREAS, Police officers, firefighters and emergency medical
personnel, both career and volunteer, risk their lives every day to make
our communities safer through such efforts as search and rescue
operations, hazardous materials response, crime and fire prevention and
safety education and responding and treating a variety of
life-threatening emergencies; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when these
brave men and women who spend countless hours and holidays away from
their families in the name of public safety are brought to our
attention, they should be recognized by all the citizens of this great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Captain Charles Morgan upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by the FDNY on January 26, 2017; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Captain Charles Morgan.
