HONORING Calista Bond upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Ronald I. Jacobowitz
Youth of the Year Award by the Village of Walden
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Calista Bond upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Ronald I. Jacobowitz Youth of the Year Award by the Village of Walden;
this momentous occasion was celebrated at its 7th Annual Leadership Day
Awards Ceremony on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Municipal Hall; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award is given to a graduating high school
student who displays outstanding leadership, volunteerism, above average
work ethic, and has shown to have a profound impact in their school
and/or community; Calista Bond is one such individual; and
WHEREAS, A senior at Valley Central High School, Calista Bond has
taken advanced placement and honors classes throughout her high school
career; she is a member of the English, Spanish, and History Honor
Societies, and is the youngest Flight Guardian for Hudson Valley Honor
Flight and a Board Member for Lunch of Honor; and
WHEREAS, Calista Bond, in achieving this high academic honor, may
take just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of
excellence she brings to her family, friends, community and school; and
WHEREAS, With her sense of civic duty and her commitment to others,
Calista Bond represents the best development of the potential which is
inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Calista Bond upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Ronald I. Jacobowitz Youth of the Year Award by the Village of
Walden; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Calista Bond.
