COMMENDING Joe and Kathy Condon upon the occasion
of their designation for special recognition by the
Albany Police Athletic League on April 18, 2017

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Joe and Kathy Condon have given not only of their time and
energies but also of their competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently have been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Joe and
Kathy Condon upon the occasion of their designation for special
recognition by the Albany Police Athletic League, to be celebrated at
its 4th Annual Breakfast of Champions Event "Let's Make It Happen!" on
Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at the Albany Marriott in Albany, New York;
and

WHEREAS, This year's keynote speaker is Scott Marr, Head Coach of
No. 1 nationally ranked UAlbany Lacrosse Team; and

WHEREAS, Established in 1988, the Albany Police Athlete League (PAL)
strives to create and cultivate a community bond between the youth and
law enforcement in the City of Albany through a variety of after-school
activities, summer camps, clubs and sports programs; and

WHEREAS, The PAL diligently works to develop strong leaders who
think critically, work hard, and act compassionately; approximately
2,000 young people every year benefit from this exceptional
organization; and

WHEREAS, Joe and Kathy Condon have been called upon to contribute
their time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and
have always given of themselves unstintingly; and

WHEREAS, Joe Condon is widely recognized as the "Official Voice" of
the PAL Capital Holiday Lights in the Park display at Washington Park in
downtown Albany, one of the Capital Region's biggest events during the
winter season; in addition, he has spent countless hours volunteering at
many other PAL activities and events; and

WHEREAS, Kathy Condon enjoys giving back to her community by
supporting various PAL Youth Programs; and

WHEREAS, Together, this remarkable couple is committed to helping
the young people of the Capital Region through numerous other charitable
organizations; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Joe and Kathy Condon have stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Joe and Kathy Condon have
displayed throughout their lives; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Joe and Kathy Condon upon the occasion of their designation for
special recognition by the Albany Police Athletic League on April 18,
2018; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Joe and Kathy Condon.
