CONGRATULATING Jessica Curtis upon the occasion of
her induction into the Port Jervis School District
Alumni Hall of Fame on October 8, 2017
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those distinguished citizens who devote their time and
energies to the service of their community and profession, participating
in civic affairs and enhancing the character and quality of life for all
citizens; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Jessica Curtis upon the occasion of her induction into the
Port Jervis School District Alumni Hall of Fame, celebrated at the 8th
Annual Port Jervis School District Alumni Hall of Fame Induction
Ceremony and Banquet on Sunday, October 8, 2017, which was held at the
Erie Trackside Manor in Port Jervis, New York; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the Port Jervis School District Alumni Hall of
Fame recognizes individuals who have achieved personal success and have
made a significant contribution to society, serving as role models to
inspire current and future generations of Port Jervis students; a member
of the Class of 1998, Jessica Curtis is truly deserving of this great
honor; and
WHEREAS, At the age of 22, Jessica Curtis was the youngest person to
be elected to political office in Port Jervis' history, holding the
position of council woman; and
WHEREAS, Jessica Curtis began her career in broadcasting as
Associate Producer at New York City's 77WABC Radio; she then assumed the
role of Producer of Special Events and Politics at Fox News Radio; in
this capacity, she produced live coverage which included broadcasts of
primary elections, national conventions and both Presidential debates
and inaugurations; and
WHEREAS, Jessica Curtis is also an NRA Certified Instructor in the
field of both Pistol and Personal Protection; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her professional and
community service, a period of constructive involvement, Jessica Curtis
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
individuals who enhanced the well-being and vitality of their community
and demonstrated a long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly
have earned the recognition and applause of all the citizens of this
great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Jessica Curtis upon the occasion of her induction into the
Port Jervis School District Alumni Hall of Fame on October 8, 2017; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Jessica Curtis.
