HONORING Donald Fane upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Monsignor Burns
Award by Catholic Central High School on April 23,
2018
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Donald Fane upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Monsignor Burns Award by Catholic Central High School, to be celebrated
at its 32nd Annual Monsignor Burns Dinner on Monday, April 23, 2018, at
the Century House, Latham, New York; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1923 by Bishop Edmund F. Gibbons, Catholic
Central High School is a coeducational, college preparatory school
educating more than 300 students in grades 7 through 12; located in
North Troy, its diverse student body hails from 35 surrounding school
districts; and
WHEREAS, A 1978 graduate of Lansingburgh High School and Hudson
Valley Community College's Class of 1980, Donald Fane moved into the
family business as Vice-President of Warren Fane, Inc. and President of
Fane Concrete; and
WHEREAS, Donald Fane went on to become President of King Road
Materials from 1995 to 1998; he was then promoted to Senior Vice
President of Callanan Industries, followed by Executive Vice President,
and finally, President, the esteemed position he continues to hold
today; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Troy, New York, Donald Fane has served on
numerous boards including Pioneer Bank, Lansingburgh Boys and Girls
Club, Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Seton Health Foundation and the
Lansingburgh Education Foundation; and
WHEREAS, Donald Fane is also involved in the Callanan-Crusaders
Basketball Tournament which benefits the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society,
the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and Catholic Central High School
athletics; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Lisa, and their six
children, who have all shown him love and support and rejoice in his
many achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Donald Fane upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Monsignor Burns Award by Catholic Central High School on April 23,
2018; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Donald Fane.
