HONORING Shari and Marc Weissbach upon the
occasion of their designation for special
recognition by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on
April 19, 2018
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Shari and Marc Weissbach have given not only of their time
and energies but also of their competence, intelligence and leadership
and consequently have been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Shari and
Marc Weissbach upon the occasion of their designation for special
recognition by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, to be celebrated at its
Night on the Town event on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Jericho Terrace,
Mineola, New York; and
WHEREAS, Shari and Marc Weissbach became involved with the Leukemia
& Lymphoma Society in 2013, when they joined the team of a friend and
leukemia survivor to participate in Man & Woman of the Year, a
philanthropic competition to support blood cancer research; and
WHEREAS, With the untimely death of their nephew, Robbie, to Acute
Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), Shari and Marc Weissbach are steadfastly
committed to this vital organization, dedicating their tireless efforts
to his memory; and
WHEREAS, Marc Weissbach graduated from the University of Miami and
is a Registered Architect with expertise in building enclosure systems;
he serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Vidaris, Inc.
and is a member of its Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, he is active in Code development and has
served as Chair of the New York City Department of Buildings
Construction Requirements and Materials Committee, as well as a member
of the Department of Buildings Managing Committee; and
WHEREAS, After graduating from Binghamton University, Shari
Weissbach went on to earn a Juris Doctor degree from Hofstra Law School;
she is currently an attorney with her own practice in the area of wills,
trusts and estates; and
WHEREAS, Shari Weissbach has been a volunteer for many years,
serving as PTA President at the Norman J. Levy Lakeside Elementary
School and as Vice-President of Education at Temple Beth Am of Merrick
and Bellmore; and
WHEREAS, In addition, she is actively involved in the Robbie Levine
Forever 9 Foundation, and presently serves as co-President at Temple
Beth Am of Merrick and Bellmore; and
WHEREAS, With them throughout have been their two children, both of
whom have showed them love and support and rejoice in their many
achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by
individuals for the benefit of others which Shari and Marc Weissbach
have displayed throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Shari and Marc Weissbach, that future generations may know and
appreciate their admirable character, their many benevolent deeds, and
their respect and esteem in which they are held by their peers; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Shari and Marc Weissbach upon the occasion of their designation
for special recognition by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on April 19,
2018; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Shari and Marc Weissbach.
