HONORING Sheila Brown upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Mary T. Blakeslee
Service to Youth Award by the Town of Hamburg
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to publicly
recognize those extraordinary individuals who have made contributions to
the success and progress of society in the course of their life's work;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Sheila Brown upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Mary T. Blakeslee Service to Youth Award by the Town of Hamburg, to be
celebrated at its 30th Annual Youth Bureau Service Awards & Recognition
Banquet at Michael's Catering And Banquets, Hamburg, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Town of Hamburg Youth Bureau is a branch of the
Department of Youth, Recreation and Senior Services (YRSS); and
WHEREAS, Sheila Brown will receive this auspicious award for giving
tirelessly of her time, energy, dedication and commitment to youth
development; and
WHEREAS, Called upon to contribute her time and talents to countless
civic and charitable endeavors, Sheila Brown has always given of herself
unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Sheila Brown has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Sheila Brown has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, The unity of our State and Nation is built upon the
compassion of individuals such as Sheila Brown who uphold the values of
community life and who, through their great actions, epitomize the best
of humanity; and
WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Sheila Brown, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sheila Brown upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Mary T. Blakeslee Service to Youth Award by the Town of Hamburg; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Sheila Brown.
