HONORING Michael J. Gilfeather upon the occasion
of his designation as recipient of the Distinguished
Citizen Award by Boy Scouts of America, Hudson
Valley Council
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Michael J. Gilfeather upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Distinguished Citizen Award by Boy Scouts of America, Hudson
Valley Council, to be celebrated at its Distinguished Citizen Award
Dinner on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at West Hills Country Club,
Middletown, New York; and
WHEREAS, Orange Bank & Trust Company President and CEO, Michael J.
Gilfeather brings over 35 years of banking experience to his leadership
position; and
WHEREAS, In addition to this esteemed role, Michael J. Gilfeather
serves in the same capacity with the bank's holding company, Orange
County Bancorp, Inc. (OCBI), and is a director of Hudson Valley
Investment Advisors, a wholly owned subsidiary of OCBI; and
WHEREAS, Prior to joining Orange Bank & Trust Company, Michael J.
Gilfeather was the Chief Administrative Officer and Executive Vice
President of Hudson Valley Bank, where he was directly responsible for
the branch network, training and development, human resources and the
bank's trust department; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, he was part of the team responsible for Hudson
Valley Bank's growth and transformation into a 28 branch banking
operation; and
WHEREAS, Michael J. Gilfeather served as the Senior Manager for all
retail banking in the Borough of Manhattan at The Bank of New York,
before serving as Executive Vice President of Branch Administration at
Hudson Valley Bank from July 2005 to May of 2011; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Middletown, New York, Michael J. Gilfeather
is a board member of the New York Bankers Association, Orange County
Partnership, Orange Regional Medical Center Foundation, Orange County
Chamber of Commerce, and the Tri County Heart Walk Executive Leadership
Team; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to publicly
recognize those extraordinary individuals who have made contributions to
the success and progress of society in the course of their life's work;
and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity
to express its highest admiration for Michael J. Gilfeather, and to wish
him continued success in all of his future endeavors; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Michael J. Gilfeather upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Distinguished Citizen Award by Boy Scouts of America,
Hudson Valley Council; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Michael J. Gilfeather.
