CELEBRATING the Haitian Creole Family Conference
on May 16, 2018, sponsored by the New York City
Department of Education

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body, in keeping with
its time-honored traditions, to recognize and pay tribute to those
organizations which foster ethnic pride and enhance the profile of
cultural diversity which strengthens the fabric of the communities of
New York State; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to celebrate the
Haitian Creole Family Conference on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, sponsored
by the New York City Department of Education; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious conference boasts workshops for parents and
local resources for families, as well as activities for parents and
children to do together; furthermore, all information and activities are
presented in Haitian Creole; and

WHEREAS, The success of the Haitian Creole Family Conference is in
direct correlation to the efforts of its sponsors and participants,
whose involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an
impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising
standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the conference and
the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to the Haitian Creole
Family Conference; and

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to recognize
those organizations and its members of true purpose and worthy
accomplishment who provide opportunities to celebrate their rich ethnic
flavor and who strive to preserve their cultural heritage; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
celebrate the Haitian Creole Family Conference on May 16, 2018,
sponsored by the New York City Department of Education; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the New York City Department of Education.
