COMMENDING East Flatbush Inc., a youth and
community development corporation, upon the occasion
of hosting its 2018 Sip and Paint Autism Awareness
Event on April 28, 2018

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend East
Flatbush Inc., a youth and community development corporation, upon the
occasion of hosting its 2018 Sip and Paint Autism Awareness Event held
on Saturday, April 28, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Established in 2008, East Flatbush Village diligently works
to uplift its Neighbors with Neighbors; this vital not-for-profit
organization provides programs for young people and provides resources
to the entire family which in turn will repair the community; and

WHEREAS, East Flatbush Village offers a range of community
enrichment programs including mentorship, dance, step, arts and crafts,
digital inclusion, photography, martial arts, graphic and web design, as
well as music creativity programs; and

WHEREAS, East Flatbush Village also established the Boys2Manhood
Mentorship Program, Sistas With A Vision, Healthy Aging Digital
Inclusion Program, S.T.A.N.D. (Self-care, Tender-love, Always, Needed,
Daily) Mental Health Initiatives, and the E.N.O.U.G.H. (Educating,
Neighborhoods, Organizing, Under-served, Grassroots-organizing and
Health-awareness) Initiative, which involves community organizing and
activism designed to curtail rising street violence within our
community; and

WHEREAS, The success of East Flatbush Village is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its members, whose involvement is, and
always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all
endeavors on behalf of the organization and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to East Flatbush Village;
and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend East Flatbush Inc., a youth and community development

corporation, upon the occasion of hosting its 2018 Sip and Paint Autism
Awareness Event on April 28, 2018; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to East Flatbush Inc.
