COMMENDING Virginia Carey upon the occasion of her
retirement after more than 37 years of distinguished
service to the Village of Monroe
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished citizens of this great Empire State who have
devoted themselves to faithfully serving the best interests of their
community and the needs of its residents; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Virginia Carey upon the occasion of her retirement after more
than 37 years of distinguished service to the Village of Monroe; and
WHEREAS, Virginia Carey began her career at the Village of Monroe as
Deputy Clerk on April 26, 1979, she then rose to the position of Village
Clerk, a position from which she retired from on December 30, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Virginia Carey served the Village of
Monroe with intelligence and caring dedication, continuously striving to
effectively fulfill the duties of her position; and
WHEREAS, Devoted to her career, Virginia Carey has worked with the
residents of the community to make Monroe a better place to live and
work; leaving an unfillable void after her retirement, she will be
greatly missed by everyone she interacted with at the Clerk window; and
WHEREAS, Sincerely loved and greatly respected by all those with
whom she worked with, Virginia will be remembered for her honesty,
integrity, keen sense of duty and ability to show a unique grasp of
human problems in her official acts; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Virginia Carey upon the occasion of her retirement after more
than 37 years of distinguished service to the Village of Monroe; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Virginia Carey.
