COMMEMORATING the 90th Anniversary of PJ Green,
Inc. of Utica, New York on June 1, 2018

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize those
illustrious pioneer companies of the State of New York whose focus and
intent have made a substantial impact on the quality of life in their
communities; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 90th Anniversary of PJ Green, Inc. of Utica, New York to
be celebrated at an event on Friday, June 1, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Philip J. "PJ" Green established PJ Green, Inc. as PJ Green
Advertising Service in 1928; Philip, his wife, Anna Mae, and their five
children printed customer's orders in the garage of the family home on
Albany Street in Utica; Philip would deliver advertising circulars and
promotional items door-to-door in the Utica area until he was able to
process mailed advertising and other forms of volume distribution; and

WHEREAS, As the firm continued to grow, Philip J. Green's sons,
Terry and Pat joined their father and the company soon became
incorporated; Phillip led the company for more than 50 years until his
death in 1982, when Terry succeeded his father as President, and Pat
became Vice President; and

WHEREAS, At this time, the growing company added a second production
facility in Syracuse, New York; in 1987, PJ Green moved into a four
story, 125,000 square foot facility on Whitesboro Street in Utica, where
the main production facility and corporate offices remain; in 2009, a
third office was opened in Albany, New York; and

WHEREAS, After Terry and Pat Green's untimely deaths, their families
and employees were committed to keeping the company intact; currently,
four of Terry's children continue to operate the business; and

WHEREAS, PJ Green purchased the Town Crier, a "good news"
publication serving the residents of nearby communities; since then,
circulation and content has more than doubled; during this time, the
company further expanded by adding graphic design, integrated marketing,
variable printing and promotional products to their service offerings;
and

WHEREAS, Recently, Philip J. Green's great-grandchildren joined the
company, making it a fourth generation family-run business; today, this
exceptional business is widely recognized as the leading variable
printing and mailing firm in Central New York; and

WHEREAS, The success of PJ Green is in direct correlation to the
efforts of Vice President Rick Green and his staff, whose involvement
is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an
unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in

all endeavors on behalf of the institution and the community it serves;
and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges contributions of PJ Green to the local and State economies,
and extends its highest commendation to this corporate enterprise, fully
confident that it will continue to enjoy the sparkling success it has
enjoyed thus far; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 90th Anniversary of PJ Green, Inc. of Utica, New York on
June 1, 2018; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Rick Green, Vice President, PJ Green, Inc.
