HONORING Talya Shlang upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of a Young Professionals
Award by the Sullivan County Democrat
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those young adults within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Talya Shlang upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of a
Young Professionals Award by the Sullivan County Democrat; and
WHEREAS, Talya Shlang was selected for this esteemed honor in
recognition of her hard work, ambition, and creativity, as well as for
her profound impact in and around the community of Sullivan County; and
WHEREAS, After graduating from Dwight High School in New York City,
Talya Shlang attended Syracuse University where she majored in Public
Relations with minors in Hospitality and Sociology; and
WHEREAS, Talya Shlang started as an intern at Bethel Woods Center
for the Arts which turned into a full time position as Development
Coordinator before she moved on to Frost Valley YMCA as an Associate in
Public Relations; and
WHEREAS, Today, this extraordinary woman is the Public Relations
Manager at Resorts World Catskills, where she is involved in several
aspects of the casino including advertising and media; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to her
community, Talya Shlang serves on the committee for the annual Thunder
102 St. Jude Radiothon; she also runs numerous charitable 5k races each
year; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Talya Shlang upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
a Young Professionals Award by the Sullivan County Democrat; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Talya Shlang.
