COMMEMORATING the 50th Anniversary of Camp
Chautauqua

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to honor and
commemorate the proud and distinguished histories of the people and
communities which comprise the noble body of this great Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Camp Chautauqua; and

WHEREAS, Since 1968, the Anderson family has owned and operated Camp
Chautauqua with the intent of providing the best camping experience
possible; Camp Chautauqua's Founder, Roger Anderson, was one of
Chautauqua County Vacationland Association's (now Chautauqua County
Visitors Bureau) earliest Presidents; it is now three generations of
Andersons who have steered Camp Chautauqua with the vision of promoting
the tourism and camping industries; and

WHEREAS, Camp Chautauqua has remained an integral part of the
vacation experience in the region, and has been steadfast in their
commitment to the customer; the campground always puts the camper first
and has been proactive in improving the experience; this includes key
improvement to the sites, waterfront and dock areas, the pool,
pavilions, and many other camp services; and

WHEREAS, Camp Chautauqua is a major supporter and contributor to the
communities in which it exists and does business; this includes
leadership and participation in the Don and Elsie Hogan Memorial Tourism
Fund and Golf Tourism, fundraising for Camp Good Days and Special Times,
as well as many other initiatives; and

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly
recognize and honor milestones in the history of communities large and
small in this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Camp Chautauqua; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Camp Chautauqua.
