HONORING Marc C. Titterington upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the 2018 Youth of
the Year Award by the Boys & Girls Club of the
Northtowns

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Marc C. Titterington upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the 2018 Youth of the Year Award by the Boys & Girls Club of the
Northtowns; and

WHEREAS, With this monumental win, Marc C. Titterington will compete
for the New York State title; and

WHEREAS, The Boys & Girls Club's highest honor, the Youth of the
Year Award, recognizes outstanding contributions to a club member's
family, school, and overall community, as well as their perseverance in
overcoming personal challenges and obstacles; these honorees are shining
examples and living proof that great futures start at Boys & Girls
Clubs; and

WHEREAS, Marc C. Titterington has been a vital member of the Boys &
Girls Club of the Northtowns for 12 years; since his parents worked long
hours, he enjoyed spending time with good people who cared about him in
a safe environment; and

WHEREAS, In his younger years, Marc C. Titterington was an
enthusiastic member of the Torch Club, a group that performed various
service activities while beginning to instil foundations for leadership
in the members; and

WHEREAS, Marc C. Titterington gave back to the Club that helped him
so much by volunteering with the Newman Family Club's hockey, baseball,
and flag football programs; each year, he also works with the Challenged
Athletes Participating in Sports (CAPS) Baseball Program; and

WHEREAS, In addition to his volunteer work with the Boys & Girls
Club of the Northtowns, Marc C. Titterington participated in the local
group Team Up to Clean Up, and during the holidays, he assists with the
Christmas For Kids event at his high school; and

WHEREAS, As a student, Marc C. Titterington has always pushed
himself by taking AP classes, additional non-required courses and an
extensive career-focused course toward his goal of becoming a teacher;
and

WHEREAS, After graduating, Marc C. Titterington plans on studying
education with a focus on special education at St. Bonaventure College;
and

WHEREAS, Through his active involvement in the community and his
sincere dedication to others, Marc C. Titterington has become an
exceptional role model for others; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the youth
of today, and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Marc C. Titterington upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Youth of the Year Award by the Boys & Girls Club of the
Northtowns; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Marc C. Titterington.
