HONORING Zoe Gronner upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Senior Scholar
Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES on April
26, 2018
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Zoe Gronner
upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Senior Scholar
Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES which was celebrated at its
Fifth Annual Awards Breakfast, on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Kuhl's
Highland House, Middletown, New York; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award recognizes outstanding high school
students for their accomplishments and/or performances in the arts,
including fine arts, theater, and music; and
WHEREAS, Zoe Gronner has distinguished herself as a young woman of
superlative ability, talent, and maturity, establishing standards of
excellence and achievement, purposefulness of life, and responsibility
rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, A senior at Goshen High School, Zoe Gronner will be
attending New York University in the fall; she plans on majoring in fine
arts (acting) with a minor in drama therapy; currently, she is the
President of the Drama Club and alto 1 vocalist in: Varsity Choir, Jazz
Choir, Concert Choir and Women's Choir; and
WHEREAS, During her four years in high school, Zoe Gronner has been
involved in both the dramatic/comedy plays as well as the spring
musicals; as a leader of the Drama Club, she assisted the directors and
choreographers during numerous rehearsals and also helped her fellow
peers when they were struggling by lending a helping hand when needed;
and
WHEREAS, Zoe Gronner is an active member of the Young Progressives,
Cultural Diversity and Blood Drive Club; outside of school, she has had
the privilege of performing at Carnegie Hall with the New York Spring
Pops: Birthday Gala during the last five years; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Zoe Gronner
has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Zoe Gronner may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her
accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and
WHEREAS, Zoe Gronner represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of her
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Zoe Gronner upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Senior Scholar Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES, and to
wish her well in her future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Zoe Gronner.
