HONORING Theresa Bailey upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Senior Scholar
Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES on April
26, 2018
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Theresa
Bailey upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Senior
Scholar Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES which was celebrated
at its Fifth Annual Awards Breakfast, on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at
Kuhl's Highland House, Middletown, New York; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award recognizes outstanding high school
students for their accomplishments and/or performances in the arts,
including fine arts, theater, and music; and
WHEREAS, Theresa Bailey has distinguished herself as a young woman
of superlative ability, talent, and maturity, establishing standards of
excellence and achievement, purposefulness of life, and responsibility
rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, A senior at S.S. Seward Institute, Florida, New York,
Theresa Bailey will be attending SUNY Orange this fall in Middletown,
New York; she plans on majoring in business administration to pursue her
dream of opening her own business; and
WHEREAS, Currently, Theresa Bailey is the Vice President of NHS,
Vice President of the Art Club and third in her graduating class; she is
an active member in her school and church community; and
WHEREAS, During her four years in high school, Theresa Bailey has
participated in Varsity Soccer and Varsity Basketball; after school, she
babysits, and in her free time, she enjoys doing artwork; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Theresa
Bailey has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Theresa Bailey may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her
accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and
WHEREAS, Theresa Bailey represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to
honor this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of
her future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Theresa Bailey upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Senior Scholar Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES, and
to wish her well in her future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Theresa Bailey.
