Senate Resolution No. 5346

COMMENDING Dr. Ernst Michel upon the occasion of
being named a 2018 Hall of Fame Honoree by Making
the Impossible Possible, Inc. on May 27, 2018

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Dr. Ernst Michel upon the occasion of being named a 2018 Hall of
Fame Honoree by Making the Impossible Possible, Inc., to be celebrated
at its 7th Annual Power of Partnerships, Scholarship and Hall of Fame
Gala on Sunday, May 27, 2018, at the BRIC Arts Media, Brooklyn, New
York; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 2001, Making the Impossible Possible, Inc.
(MIPO) is a non-profit membership organization, promoting the quality of
life of Haitian youth in the United States and abroad through education,
music, character building, medical care, apprenticeship training, family
support and scholarships; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Ernst Michel earned his medical degree from the
University of Montemorelos and completed his training in Internal
Medicine at San Juan City Hospital; upon the completion of his
residency, he worked as an Assistant Professor and Hospitalist at the
University of Florida Hospital; currently Dr. Michel is a
board-certified specialist in internal medicine; and

WHEREAS, Multi-lingual, Dr. Ernst Michel has many ties to Haiti; he
provided medical care to the victims of the 2010 earthquake, and is the
owner of Pure Amaanzi/L'eau La Plus Pure D'Haiti which is located in the
northern part of the country; and

WHEREAS, For his steadfast and unremitting commitment to his
profession, Dr. Ernst Michel was the recipient of numerous awards and
accolades including the 2009 Who's Who Honors Award; in 2012, he was
recognized by his patients as one of America's Most Compassionate
Doctors as well as one of Florida's Favorite Physicians, and in 2013, he
was selected as one of Jacksonville's Top Doctors; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Dr. Ernst Michel, that future generations may know and appreciate his
admirable character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity
to express its highest admiration for Dr. Ernst Michel and to wish him
continued success in all of her future endeavors; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Dr. Ernst Michel upon the occasion of being named a 2018 Hall of
Fame Honoree by Making the Impossible Possible, Inc. on May 27, 2018;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dr. Ernst Michel.
