COMMENDING Alvin C. Vanessa Ogar upon the occasion
of being named a 2018 Hall of Fame Honoree by Making
the Impossible Possible, Inc. on May 27, 2018

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Alvin C. Vanessa Ogar upon the occasion of being named a 2018
Hall of Fame Honoree by Making the Impossible Possible, Inc., to be
celebrated at its 7th Annual Power of Partnerships, Scholarship and Hall
of Fame Gala on Sunday, May 27, 2018, at the BRIC Arts Media, Brooklyn,
New York; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 2001, Making the Impossible Possible, Inc.
(MIPO) is a non-profit membership organization, promoting the quality of
life of Haitian youth in the United States and abroad through education,
music, character building, medical care, apprenticeship training, family
support and scholarships; and

WHEREAS, Alvin C. Vanessa Ogar is Of Counsel to Miller, Leiby &
Associates, P.C. in Manhattan, New York, where she practices matrimonial
law, trust and estates, personal injury, immigration law, Article 81
guardianships, foreclosure defense, and commercial and residential
landlord-tenant law; and

WHEREAS, Prior to entering private practice, Alvin C. Vanessa Ogar
served as a principal court attorney in Kings County, Supreme
Court-Civil Term, Of Counsel to Alter & Barbaro, Esqs., Pro Bono Counsel
to Making the Impossible Possible, Inc., and General Counsel for Five
Star Contracting Company, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, Alvin C. Vanessa Ogar received her Bachelor of Science
degree in Political Science with a minor in Business Economics from
Trinity University in 2006; she went on to earn her Juris Doctorate from
Albany Law School in 2009, with a concentration in health law and as a
member of Albany Law School Science and Technology Journal; and

WHEREAS, Currently an Administrative Law Judge (AUJ), Alvin C.
Vanessa Ogar is also a licensed real estate broker and member of New
York State Trial Lawyers Association, Brooklyn Bar Association, Brooklyn
Women's Bar Association, and Thomas Jefferson Political Club; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Alvin C. Vanessa Ogar, that future generations may know and appreciate

her admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity
to express its highest admiration for Alvin C. Vanessa Ogar and to wish
her continued success in all of her future endeavors; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Alvin C. Vanessa Ogar upon the occasion of being named a 2018
Hall of Fame Honoree by Making the Impossible Possible, Inc. on May 27,
2018; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Alvin C. Vanessa Ogar.
