CONGRATULATING Thomas Lamb upon the occasion of
being named a 2016 honoree by KIDS COUNT! at its
17th Annual Testimonial Dinner on September 17, 2016
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the community;
and
WHEREAS, A great community is only as great as those persons who
provide exemplary service, whether through participation in voluntary
programs, through unique personal achievement in their profession or
simply through a lifetime of good citizenship; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Thomas Lamb upon the occasion of being named a 2016 honoree
by KIDS COUNT! at its 17th Annual Testimonial Dinner to be held at the
Watervliet Elks Club on Saturday, September 17, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Prior to the dinner, Coach Mike Deane will lead his annual
Basketball Clinic at the Watervliet Dome, a free event open to both boys
and girls of all skill levels; and
WHEREAS, KIDS COUNT! is a nonprofit organization which raises funds
to enhance the lives of children through recreational, cultural, and
educational programs in Watervliet, New York and the Capital Region; and
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Watervliet, Thomas "Tom" Lamb
attended St. Brigid's Regional Catholic School, Christian Brothers
Academy and Siena College, where he graduated with the Class of 1980; he
went on to earn his law degree from Pace University School of Law; and
WHEREAS, Tom Lamb has been a practicing attorney for the past 32
years; in 1984, he went into practice with his father, Vincent Lamb,
until February of 2016; and
WHEREAS, Tom Lamb is employed by the New York State Office of Court
Administration as the Watervliet City Court Judge, the position he has
held since 1991; and
WHEREAS, Tom Lamb has given of his time and energies to St. Brigid's
School, St. Brigid's Church, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish; he
has volunteered at countless bazaars, CYO events and church activities;
today, he is still very active in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish;
and
WHEREAS, Tom Lamb is a former member of the St. Brigid's Holy Name
Association; he has been a longtime coach and booster for both the
Watervliet Little League and the Watervliet Pop Warner; having played
quarterback at both the high school and college level, he takes great
pleasure in sharing his vast knowledge and love of the game with the
young athletes; and
WHEREAS, A former President of the Watervliet Senior Citizen's Board
of Directors, Tom Lamb has also served on the Boards of the American Red
Cross and the Society of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick; he is a
member of and Counsel for the Watervliet B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 1500 and a
member of the Watervliet Ancient Order of Hibernians; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Pamela, and their
two sons, Thomas and Evan, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of
his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Thomas Lamb upon the occasion of being named a 2016 honoree
by KIDS COUNT! at its 17th Annual Testimonial Dinner; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Thomas Lamb.
