Senate Resolution No. 5412

CONGRATULATE Kirk Ventiquattro upon the occasion
of his retirement after 30 seasons as Head Coach of
the Carthage Comets High School Boys Lacrosse Team

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those
individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Kirk Ventiquattro upon the occasion of his retirement after
30 seasons as Head Coach of the Carthage Comets High School Boys
Lacrosse Team; and

WHEREAS, Kirk Ventiquattro, founded the boys lacrosse program at
Carthage High School in 1988, when the school fielded a junior varsity
team, followed by a varsity team the following season; and

WHEREAS, Coach Ventiquattro is a Carthage High School graduate, and
also a graduate of the State University of New York at Cortland; and

WHEREAS, Coach Ventiquattro guided the Carthage program to its 400th
win in March of 2014, and has coached the team to 24 Frontier League
championships, nine A Division titles and six Section 3 titles; and

WHEREAS, Under his stewardship, the Carthage Comets have built a
successful boys lacrosse program and can take pride in their many
accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, A cancer survivior, Coach Ventiquattro has promoted cancer
awareness and launched and organized Team 24 lacrosse events annually,
which raise money for the American Cancer Society; and

WHEREAS, Coach Ventiquattro is leaving a legacy of hard work and
success, and he has dedicated his life to improving the lives of his
many players over the years; and

WHEREAS, Coach Ventiquattro has clearly had an enduring impact on
his players, as well as on Carthage high school and the Carthage
community-at-large, and accordingly merits recognition and applause for
his impressive contributions to his community and dedication to others;
and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals who work to support their communities by
providing their skills and talents to helping others; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Kirk Ventiquattro upon the occasion of his retirement after 30
years of distinguished service as Head Coach of the Carthage Comets Boys
High School Lacrosse Team, and to wish him continued success in all his
future endeavors; and be it further


RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Coach Kirk Ventiquattro.
