HONORING Dominic Condino Motors Inc. upon the
occasion of celebrating its 100th year in business

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Dominic
Condino Motors Inc. upon the occasion of celebrating its 100th year in
business; and

WHEREAS, Dominic Condino emigrated to the United States from Italy
in 1913, and opened a machine shop and parts store on State Street in
Carthage, New York, in 1918; and

WHEREAS, In 1930, a showroom and repair facility was constructed at
229 State Street and this building still remains today; and

WHEREAS, It was also in 1930 that the business began selling DeSoto
automobiles; and

WHEREAS, In 1940, the business became a Chrysler-Plymouth
dealership, selling its first car on October 15, 1940, a blue Plymouth
Sedan; and

WHEREAS, In 2009, with Chrysler trimming the number of its
dealerships around the country, the business persevered and began
selling used vehicles; and

WHEREAS, Known for its cleanliness and order, Dominic Condino Motors
Inc. has flourished under the hard work and dedication of three
generations of Condinos; and

WHEREAS, Now operated by Dominic's grandson, James D. Condino, the
business has seen many third generation customers, who join with the
Village of Carthage in celebrating the success of Dominic Condino Motors
Inc.; and

WHEREAS, A cornerstone of the community it serves, Dominic Condino
Motors Inc. is truly an institution whose years of exemplary customer
service will enable it to achieve further success in the years to come;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dominic Condino Motors Inc. upon the occasion of celebrating its
100th year in business; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dominic Condino Motors Inc.
