HONORING Nicole De Los Santos upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association
as a 2018 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Nicole De
Los Santos upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition
by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2018
Senior Scholar-Athlete; this momentous occasion was celebrated with a
Breakfast on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Kuhl's Highland House, Middle-
town, New York; and

WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Nicole De Los Santos has
distinguished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent,
and maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement,
purposefulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful
years; and

WHEREAS, A student at S.S. Seward Institute, Nicole De Los Santos
has a 92.553 GPA and is ranked 5th in her class; she is a member of
Student Council and the Art Club and Band; and

WHEREAS, Nicole De Los Santos is also Captain of the volleyball team
and is a member of the basketball team; and

WHEREAS, Nicole De Los Santos plans to attend Binghamton University
and major in neuroscience; and

WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Nicole De Los
Santos has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and

WHEREAS, Nicole De Los Santos may stand with pride in her
achievements, experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of
her accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as
she continues her education; and

WHEREAS, Nicole De Los Santos represents the potential inherent in
our most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased
to honor this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise
of her future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Nicole De Los Santos upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic
Association as a 2018 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish her well in
her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Nicole De Los Santos.
