HONORING Olivia Racette upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Orange
County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a
2018 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Olivia
Racette upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2018 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; this momentous occasion was celebrated with a Breakfast
on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Kuhl's Highland House, Middletown, New
York; and

WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Olivia Racette has
distinguished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent,
and maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement,
purposefulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful
years; and

WHEREAS, A student at Liberty High School, Olivia Racette has a
100.00 GPA and has been named Salutatorian of her class; she is a member
of the National Honor Society and Tri M Honor Society, and served as the
treasurer of her class; she also represented her school as a soprano at
both SCMEA All-County and All-State Choirs; and

WHEREAS, An exceptional athlete, Olivia Racette was the Captain of
the Varsity Girls Soccer, Softball and Basketball Teams; she was named
the MVP in skiing, soccer, softball and basketball and was the recipient
of the Ross Award for soccer, the Buchal MVP Award for softball, and
Ratner Award for basketball; and

WHEREAS, After graduating from high school, Olivia Racette plans to
major in neuroscience at Ohio State University; and

WHEREAS, Dedicated to her community, Olivia Racette gives tirelessly
of her time and energies volunteering for Relay for Life, Liberty Elks
and the Methodist Church; and

WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Olivia
Racette has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and

WHEREAS, Olivia Racette may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her
accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and

WHEREAS, Olivia Racette represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to

honor this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of
her future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Olivia Racette upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2018 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish her well in her future
endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Olivia Racette.
