HONORING Carson Sauschuck upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the Orange
County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a
2018 Senior Scholar-Athlete
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Carson
Sauschuck upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition
by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2018
Senior Scholar-Athlete; this momentous occasion was celebrated with a
Breakfast on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Kuhl's Highland House,
Middletown, New York; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Carson Sauschuck has
distinguished himself as a young man of superlative ability, talent, and
maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement,
purposefulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful
years; and
WHEREAS, A student at Port Jervis High School, Carson Sauschuck has
a 91.9 GPA and is ranked 17th in his class; he is a member of the
National Honor Society where he has participated in several activities;
and
WHEREAS, An exceptional athlete, Carson Sauschuck served as Captain
for his football and wrestling teams; he is a wrestling section champion
and played in the exceptional senior football game; he was the recipient
of the National Rivalry Series Academic Award and the NYSPHSAA
Scholar-Athlete Award for both wrestling and football; and
WHEREAS, After graduating from high school, Carson Sauschuck plans
to attend either SUNY Brockport or the University of Iowa; and
WHEREAS, Carson Sauschuck gives tirelessly of his time and energies
volunteering at the Port Jervis football spaghetti dinner, Sunday School
confirmation class, and assists with the Tri-County Youth Wrestling
Team; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Carson
Sauschuck has brought honor to his family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Carson Sauschuck may stand with pride in his achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his
accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he
continues his education; and
WHEREAS, Carson Sauschuck represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to
honor this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of
his future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Carson Sauschuck upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2018 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish him well in his future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Carson Sauschuck.
