HONORING Hannah B. Shaver upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Orange
County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a
2018 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Hannah B.
Shaver upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2018 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; this momentous occasion was celebrated with a Breakfast
on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Kuhl's Highland House, Middletown, New
York; and

WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Hannah B. Shaver has
distinguished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent,
and maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement,
purposefulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful
years; and

WHEREAS, A student at Livingston Manor High School, Hannah Bryn
Shaver has a 3.4 GPA, and is ranked 11th in her class; she is a member
of the Student Council, Interact Club, Rotary Club and Yearbook Club;
and

WHEREAS, Hannah B. Shaver is also a vital member of both the indoor
and outdoor track and field teams where she has served as Captain and
was named MVP Field Athlete and an All-Star; and

WHEREAS, After graduating from high school, Hannah B. Shaver plans
to major in speech and language pathology at Ithaca College; and

WHEREAS, Hannah B. Shaver gives tirelessly of her time and energy
volunteering for Ride 2 Survive and the local soup kitchen on Tuesdays;
and

WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Hannah B.
Shaver has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and

WHEREAS, Hannah B. Shaver may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her
accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and

WHEREAS, Hannah B. Shaver represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to
honor this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of
her future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Hannah B. Shaver upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2018 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish her well in her future
endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Hannah B. Shaver.
