HONORING Hayley Winship upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Orange
County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a
2018 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Hayley
Winship upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2018 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; this momentous occasion was celebrated with a Breakfast
on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Kuhl's Highland House, Middletown, New
York; and

WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Hayley Winship has
distinguished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent,
and maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement,
purposefulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful
years; and

WHEREAS, A student at Goshen High School, Hayley Winship has a 97.86
GPA; she is a member of the Math Team, Book Club, LEO Club, Student
Voice, and the Leadership Institute, as well as the National Honor
Society where she has served as Treasurer; and

WHEREAS, Hayley Winship has worked on many school spirit events, and
plays the violin in the orchestra; she has also served as Captain of
both the swim and lacrosse teams, and was recognized for her role as a
team leader with the Gladiator's Award; and

WHEREAS, After graduating from high school, Hayley Winship plans to
major in dietetics at SUNY Oneonta in the hopes of becoming a registered
dietitian; and

WHEREAS, A proud recipient of the Girl Scouts Gold Award, Hayley
Winship gives tirelessly of her time and energies volunteering and
donating blood for several New York blood drives; and

WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Hayley
Winship has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and

WHEREAS, Hayley Winship may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her
accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and

WHEREAS, Hayley Winship represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to

honor this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of
her future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Hayley Winship upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2018 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish her well in her future
endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Hayley Winship.
