HONORING Jacqueline Grundfast upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association
as a 2018 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jacqueline
Grundfast upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition
by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2018
Senior Scholar-Athlete; this momentous occasion was celebrated with a
Breakfast on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Kuhl's Highland House,
Middletown, New York; and

WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Jacqueline Grundfast has
distinguished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent,
and maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement,
purposefulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful
years; and

WHEREAS, A student at Warwick Valley High School, Jacqueline
Grundfast has a 104.92 GPA and is ranked 2nd in her class; she is a
member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society,
Model United Nations and Environmental Club; and

WHEREAS, Jacqueline Grundfast is also a vital member of the tennis
team where she is a two-time state qualifier and a two-time OCIAA
Champion; and

WHEREAS, Dedicated to her community, Jacqueline Grundfast gives
tirelessly of her time and energies volunteering at Saint Stephen's
Church and as an Autism tennis clinic instructor; and

WHEREAS, Jacqueline Grundfast plans to major in astrophysical
sciences at the University of Massachusetts; and

WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Jacqueline
Grundfast has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and

WHEREAS, Jacqueline Grundfast may stand with pride in her
achievements, experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of
her accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as
she continues her education; and

WHEREAS, Jacqueline Grundfast represents the potential inherent in
our most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased
to honor this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise
of her future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jacqueline Grundfast upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic
Association as a 2018 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish her well in
her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Jacqueline Grundfast.
