COMMENDING the 67th Precinct Clergy Council, Inc.
upon the occasion of hosting its 4th Annual Evening
of Remembrance and Reflection on June 28, 2018
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those
illustrious organizations of the State of New York whose focus and
intent have made a substantial impact on the quality of life in their
communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the 67th Precinct Clergy Council, Inc. upon the occasion of
hosting its 4th Annual Evening of Remembrance and Reflection on
Thursday, June 28, 2018; and
WHEREAS, The 67th Precinct Clergy Council's 4th Annual Evening of
Remembrance and Reflection will support families who have lost children
to gun violence; the evening will raise funds to continue its mission of
reducing gun violence in Central Brooklyn, and creating a community that
is safe for all; and
WHEREAS, The 67th Precinct Clergy Council, Inc., also known as
GodSquad, was founded on its religious affinity, and serves as a
charitable organization providing relief to the distressed and
underprivileged community members of the 67th Precinct in Brooklyn, New
York; and
WHEREAS, This vital organization focuses on lessening neighborhood
tensions and the burdens on government, combating community
deterioration and juvenile delinquency, and acting as a liaison among
police officers, community members, and the Corporation's congregation;
and
WHEREAS, The Corporation's membership is comprised of local pastors,
associate pastors, ministers, elders and evangelists, who further their
religious and charitable mission by supporting youth and crime
prevention programs, providing counseling and support to members of the
community and offering solutions to problems arising in the Brooklyn
community; and
WHEREAS, Over its distinguished history, the 67th Precinct Clergy
Council has demonstrated continuous service to the residents and
communities which it serves; and
WHEREAS, The success of the 67th Precinct Clergy Council is in
direct correlation to the efforts of its membership, whose involvement
is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an
unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in
all endeavors on behalf of the organization and the community it serves;
and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to the 67th Precinct
Clergy Council; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the 67th Precinct Clergy Council, Inc. upon the occasion of
hosting its 4th Annual Evening of Remembrance and Reflection on June 28,
2018; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Pastor Gilford T. Monrose, President of the 67th Precinct
Clergy Council, Inc.
