Senate Resolution No. 5702

CELEBRATING the merging of Montefiore Hospital and
Nyack Hospital to create Montefiore Nyack Hospital
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body, in keeping with
its time-honored traditions, to recognize and pay tribute to the those
organizations within our midst that substantially contribute to vitality
and growth of their communities and the entire State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
celebrate the merging of Montefiore Hospital and Nyack Hospital, to
create Montefiore Nyack Hospital; and
WHEREAS, Nyack Hospital in Rockland County, New York, founded in
1895, is a 375-bed community acute care medical and surgical hospital
which is now affiliated with Montefiore Health System; and
WHEREAS, Its mission is to provide competent, innovative and
accessible emergency and acute care services to the residents of
Rockland County and surrounding areas; and
WHEREAS, It is imperative that we celebrate these institutions that
keep our loved ones healthy, and those who dedicate their lives to
saving the lives of those we cherish most; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of the Legislative Body that when
organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, it is appropriate to publicly proclaim and commend them for
the edification and emulation of other; and
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
celebrate the merging of Montefiore Hospital and Nyack Hospital, to
create Montefiore Nyack Hospital; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Montefiore Nyack Hospital.
