COMMENDING Spencer Tunick upon the occasion of his
induction into the Fallsburg Central School District
Hall of Fame on July 14, 2018

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
those individuals of artistic significance whose creative talents have
contributed to the cultural enrichment of our communities and our
Nation; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Spencer Tunick upon the occasion of his induction into the
Fallsburg Central School District Hall of Fame to be celebrated at its
Alumni Association Luncheon on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at the
Woodbourne Fire House in Woodbourne, New York; and

WHEREAS, The Fallsburg Central School District Hall of Fame was
created by the Board of Education as a way to honor and celebrate
individuals who are truly dedicated to their community, and serve as
living treasures to thousands of students and their families; and

WHEREAS, Spencer Tunick attended Benjamin Cosor Elementary School
where he was inspired by his teacher Robert Longo, who taught his
students to celebrate the arts and give thanks to our American freedom,
the only atmosphere in which artists can truly create and in which art
is truly the expression of the soul; and

WHEREAS, Since 1994, Spencer Tunick has become a world-renowned
photographer, earning prestigious awards from many renowned
institutions; and

WHEREAS, Art lovers from across the globe have viewed and admired
his massive photographic installations with the transformations of human
bodies mingling amidst landscapes and city settings; and

WHEREAS, Spencer Tunick has clearly had an enduring impact on the
youth of the Fallsburg Central School District, as well as on the
community-at-large, and accordingly merits recognition and applause for
his contributions to the arts; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor and pay
tribute to those individuals whose commitment and creative talents have
enhanced the cultural enrichment of the citizens of the State of New
York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Spencer Tunick upon the occasion of his induction into the
Fallsburg Central School District Hall of Fame on July 14, 2018; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Spencer Tunick.
