CONGRATULATING Mr. and Mrs. David Morrissey upon
the occasion of celebrating their 57 Wedding
Anniversary

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body takes great pleasure in paying
tribute to those flourishing marriages that have stood the test of time
to serve as a paradigm for present and future generations; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to congratulate
Mr. and Mrs. David Morrissey upon the occasion of celebrating their
57th Wedding Anniversary; and

WHEREAS, David Morrissey and the former Carmella Vaiana were united
in marriage on April 15, 1961, in Lady Star of the Sea Church in Staten
Island, New York; and

WHEREAS, The couple met as David was childhood friends with
Carmella's brother, Jerry Vaiana; and

WHEREAS, They serve as a foundation of support and love for their
family, bringing everyone together during holiday time, and acting as
the backbone that keeps the family together; and

WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. David Morrissey proved to be perfect role
models for couples as their love for each other remains strong, even
withstanding the test of time; and

WHEREAS, David Morrissey worked under union Local 638 for 58 years,
while Carmella was employed as a secretary on Wall Street and in a
Staten Island doctor's office; and

WHEREAS, They are the proud parents of three boys, and loving
grandparents of five grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, These values have been passed down to their loved ones,
creating a close-knit family, while placing an importance on family and
emotional support; and

WHEREAS, They remain dedicated members to their community as well as
respected members of their church for almost 70 years, demonstrating
their commitment and enthusiasm; and

WHEREAS, Their devotion to their children knows no bounds and
remains true to their grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body that when an
occasion of such importance is brought to our attention, the same should
be memorialized by us for the edification and emulation of others; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Mr. and Mrs. David Morrissey upon the occasion of
celebrating their 57th Wedding Anniversary; and be it further


RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Mr. and Mrs. David Morrissey.
