HONORING Richard Sleasman upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Chamber Champion
Award by the Capital Region Chamber
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Richard Sleasman has given not only of his time and
energies but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently has been designated for special recognition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Richard
Sleasman upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Chamber Champion Award by the Capital Region Chamber, to be celebrated
at its Annual Dinner on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at the Albany Capital
Center, Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Capital Region Chamber helps build a stronger community
by connecting its members to people, businesses and issues important to
New York's Capital Region; it provides leadership and resources to
assist 2,600 businesses and organizations from throughout Albany,
Schenectady, Rensselaer and Saratoga counties and beyond; and
WHEREAS, Richard Sleasman is being honored for his outstanding
efforts in advancing the Capital Region Chamber's mission of being a
unifying force for change to provide greater influence and opportunities
for its members and the community-at-large; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed business leader is the president/managing
director of CBRE Albany, the Capital Region's leading commercial real
estate services firm; and
WHEREAS, Within every community, there are inevitably some
individuals who, by virtue of their energy, vision, and dedication,
command the greatest respect among their friends and colleagues, and
within the community at large; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Richard Sleasman has
displayed throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Richard Sleasman, that future generations may know and appreciate his
admirable character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Richard Sleasman upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Chamber Champion Award by the Capital Region Chamber; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Richard Sleasman.
