COMMENDING Community Beer Works upon the occasion
of celebrating its 5th Anniversary
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those
businesses within the State of New York which distinguish themselves
through outstanding professional behavior, corporate innovation, and
enduring commitment to the community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Community Beer Works upon the occasion of celebrating its 5th
Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, Ethan Box, Dan Conley and Gregory Patterson-Tanski
established Community Beer Works, the first nano-brewery in Buffalo, New
York; on April 20, 2012, their first beers were launched at Cole's and
Mister Goodbar in Buffalo; and
WHEREAS, Community Beer Works won the Governors' Brewers' Cup, which
is awarded to the Best Craft Beer in New York State, for their Whale
Brown Ale at the TAP New York's Craft Beer and Food Festival held April
29-30, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Since its inception, Community Beer Works has strived to
"Embeer Buffalo" by fostering the development of the beer culture within
Buffalo, making it one of the premier beer locations in the country; and
WHEREAS, In 2013, Community Beer Works' "The IPA" was awarded 2nd
Place in the Brewing News' National IPA Championship, and was named the
Best New Brewery in New York State at the Annual RateBeer Best Awards
Banquet and Beer Festival; and
WHEREAS, As this exceptional business continues to grow and prosper,
it underwent a large expansion project in 2016; dedicated to the
community it is a vital part of, Community Beer Works was instrumental
in encouraging economic development by renovating two buildings, both of
which were historical taverns located on Lafayette Street in the West
Side of Buffalo and Niagara Street in Niagara Falls; and
WHEREAS, The success of Community Beer Works is in direct
correlation to the efforts of owners, Ethan Box, Dan Conley and Gregory
Patterson-Tanski and their staff, whose involvement is, and always has
been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all
endeavors on behalf of the business and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges Community Beer Works' success, recognizes its contributions
to the local and State economies, and extends its highest commendation
to the nano-brewery and its employees, fully confident that it will
enjoy the same sparkling success it has enjoyed thus far; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Community Beer Works upon the occasion of celebrating its 5th
Anniversary on April 20, 2017; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Ethan Box, Dan Conley, and Gregory Patterson-Tanski,
Owners, Community Beer Works.
