HONORING Makayla Fee upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the AmeriCorps Spirit of
Service Award by the Genesee County & Batavia Youth
Boards
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Makayla Fee has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Makayla Fee upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
AmeriCorps Spirit of Service Award by the Genesee County & Batavia Youth
Boards, to be celebrated at its Youth Recognition Banquet on Thursday,
March 30, 2017, at Terry Hills Restaurant & Banquet Facility, Batavia,
New York; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award recognizes an AmeriCorps member who
has performed exemplary service on behalf of her host site, its program
and the community-at-large; Makayla Fee is one such individual; and
WHEREAS, A program of the Corporation for National and Community
Service, AmeriCorps improves lives, strengthens communities, and fosters
civic engagement through service and volunteering; and
WHEREAS, Currently enrolled in her fourth AmeriCorps term, Makayla
Fee serves at the Byron-Bergen Public Library where she has been
instrumental in the expansion of programming and outreach to the
community; and
WHEREAS, Having completed more than 1,200 hours of service to the
Library, Makayla Fee has designed several creative games, crafts and
activities which have brought fun and laughter to countless children;
and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Makayla Fee has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Makayla Fee, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Makayla Fee upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the AmeriCorps Spirit of Service Award by the Genesee County & Batavia
Youth Boards; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Makayla Fee.
