COMMENDING John Gore upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition after 50 years
of dedicated service to the American Legion Post No.
488

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
patriotic organizations and individuals who devote themselves to the
welfare of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend John Gore upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition after 50 years of dedicated service to the American Legion
Post No. 488; and

WHEREAS, The dedication and sacrifices of our military personnel
ensure our continued role as a Nation which embodies the ideals of
democracy, and is a defender of liberty for peoples throughout the
world; and

WHEREAS, A Korean War veteran, John Gore has been an active and
vital member of the American Legion Post No. 488 in Monroe, New York,
for five decades; in addition, he is a most appreciated and loved bus
driver for the Monroe-Woodbury School District; and

WHEREAS, Residents of this great State must never forget the courage
with which these men and women served their country, and must recognize
that no greater debt is owed than that owed to those who gave their
lives for their beloved Nation and to those who continue to be missing
in action; and

WHEREAS, Having exhibited their patriotism both at home and abroad,
these men and women demonstrated their love for their country and merit
forevermore, the highest respect of their State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, For 50 years, John Gore has distinguished himself in
service to his country and his community; it is the custom of this
Legislative Body to recognize the significance of his contributions and
to note his worthy endeavors which have earned the recognition and
applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore,
be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend John Gore upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition after 50 years of dedicated service to the American Legion
Post No. 488; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to John Gore.
