COMMENDING Patricia M. Pskowski upon the occasion
of her designation as Grand Marshal for the 2017
Village of Montgomery St. Pat's Ramble

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
individuals of true purpose and worthy accomplishment who work
diligently to preserve and celebrate their rich cultural heritage; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Patricia M. Pskowski upon the occasion of her designation as
Grand Marshal for the 2017 Village of Montgomery St. Pat's Ramble, to be
celebrated with a Reception on Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Ward's Bridge
Inn, Montgomery, New York; and

WHEREAS, On Saturday, March 18, 2017, the Village of Montgomery will
celebrate its 5th Annual St. Pat's Ramble Day; born of an idea of just a
few, the event now encompasses a bag piper's parade, 5K Run for the
Gold, and a Mass in honor of St. Patrick at Holy Name of Mary-Assumption
Church; and

WHEREAS, Patricia M. Pskowski was selected for this most prestigious
honor in recognition of her individual commitment to family and
community, respect for the culture and beliefs of others, awareness of
the importance of youth development and strict adherence to tenets of
integrity, charity and respect for human dignity; and

WHEREAS, A native of Nutley, New Jersey, Patricia M. Pskowski,
affectionately known as Pat, is the oldest of five children born to Rose
and Salvatore Strafaci; and

WHEREAS, In the early 1970s, as a newlywed visiting Montgomery, Pat
Pskowski fell in love with the area; due in large part to the
friendliness of the people, their willingness to help one another, their
appreciation of local history and civic pride, she and her husband
decided to call this beautiful village home; and

WHEREAS, Best known for her role in the successful operation of
Ward's Bridge Inn, Pat Pskowski's community presence extends far beyond
the renowned Pskowski family restaurant; she is past president of
Montgomery Nursery School where she continues to serve as a Teacher's
Assistant; and

WHEREAS, In addition, Pat Pskowski holds the position of Treasurer
of Holy Name of Mary-Assumption Altar Rosary Society and is a member of
the Parish's Finance Committee; she is also a long time judge at General
Montgomery festivities; and

WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Bernie Pskowski,
and their two sons, John and Brian (Melissa), all of whom feel
privileged to be a part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and

WHEREAS, A St. Patrick's Day celebration reflects and records the
ongoing history of the United States and Ireland, and provides an
opportunity for people of all generations to assemble in ethnic pride
and pageantry; and

WHEREAS, A fitting choice for Grand Marshal for the 2017 Village of
Montgomery St. Pat's Ramble, Pat Pskowski embodies the spirit and the
cherished ideals and values of Irish-Americans of this great State and
Nation; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Patricia M. Pskowski upon the occasion of her designation as
Grand Marshal for the 2017 Village of Montgomery St. Pat's Ramble; and
be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Patricia M. Pskowski.
