CONGRATULATING the Victor High School Boys Ice
Hockey Team and Head Coach Michael R. Ferreri upon
the occasion of capturing the NYSPHSAA Division 1
Ice Hockey Championship on March 11, 2018

WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
Victor High School Boys Ice Hockey Team and Head Coach Michael R.
Ferreri upon the occasion of capturing the NYSPHSAA Division 1 Ice
Hockey Championship; to the praise and applause of their excited fans,
the Blue Devils defeated Niagara-Wheatfield in a decisive 5-1 victory to
capture their first Championship on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at the
HarborCenter in Buffalo, New York; and

WHEREAS, In addition to this monumental win, the Victor High School
Boys Ice Hockey Team were the Section V Divisional Champions, Section V
Class A Champions, and Regional Champions; and

WHEREAS, Proudly donning the school's colors of blue and gold,
family, friends, and the community at large loyally and enthusiastically
supported the Blue Devils throughout their journey as they ended their
season with an impressive 22-0-4 overall record; and

WHEREAS, In a sport such as ice hockey, which demands athletic
prowess, speed and agility, Head Coach Michael R. Ferreri and Assistant
Coaches Trevor Sousa, Bryan Kavanaugh, Nate Vankouwenberg, and John
Crean worked hard to hone the skills of this championship team, teaching
these outstanding athletes lessons which will prove invaluable both on
and off the ice; and

WHEREAS, Head Coach Michael R. Ferreri and all of the outstanding
athletes on the Victor High School Boys Ice Hockey Team have clearly
utilized dedication, determination and teamwork in providing a lasting
contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a tradition of their
school; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Victor High School Boys Ice Hockey Team:
Ashton Collazo, Josh Albert, Chris Baker, Ricky Currier, Ryan McNamara,
Alex Hernandez, Connor Gelabert, Evan Millspaugh, Tristen Sulecki, Liam
Moore, Jack McCandless, Peter Rydzynski, Lukas Miller, Riley Hauf, Roman
Czornobil, Mitch Rydzynski, Ryan Briggs, Tony Prem, Payton Francher, Sam
Lambert, Andrew Crean, Cal Lambert, Bennett Prince, James Tilley, Pieter

Bartelse, Chayse Ierlan, Georgios Stathopoulos, and Team Manager Josh
Herendeen; Head Coach Michael R. Ferreri; Assistant Coaches Trevor
Sousa, Bryan Kavanaugh, Nate Vankouwenberg, and John Crean; Athletic
Trainer Cesar Nava; and Athletic Director Ron Whitcomb upon the occasion
of capturing the NYSPHSAA Division 1 Ice Hockey Championship on March
11, 2018; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the Victor High School Boys Ice Hockey
Team, Head Coach Michael R. Ferreri, Assistant Coaches Trevor Sousa,
Bryan Kavanaugh, Nate Vankouwenberg, and John Crean, Athletic Trainer
Cesar Nava and Athletic Director Ron Whitcomb.
