COMMENDING MARK Project Inc. upon the occasion of
celebrating its 40th Anniversary on May 27, 2018

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the achievements of individuals, organizations, and businesses
which contribute substantially to the economic health and vitality of
the communities of the great State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend MARK Project Inc. upon the occasion of its 40th Anniversary to
be celebrated at a gala on Sunday, May 27, 2018, at the Roxbury Barn &
Estate, in Roxbury, New York; and

WHEREAS, MARK Project Inc. is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt rural
development company which unites efforts and secures resources to build
and revitalize its communities which include the towns of Andes, Bovina,
Middletown, Roxbury and Shandaken, and the villages of Fleischmanns and
Margaretville; and

WHEREAS, The MARK Project works on economic development efforts in
the areas of entrepreneurship, Main Street revitalization, outdoor
recreation and tourism, arts and culture, agriculture and forest
products and alternative health and healing and on the business and
social activities which support and sustain its communities; and

WHEREAS, In addition, the MARK Project offers income eligible owner
occupied housing repair and homeownership programs; and

WHEREAS, For four decades, the MARK Project has strived to improve
the lives of those who live and work in the Catskills area, and to
create an attractive destination for those who visit; it has also worked
to build the capacity of individuals, organizations, businesses and
municipalities and provide resources that help them achieve their own
pre-determined goals; and

WHEREAS, The success of the MARK Project is in direct correlation to
the efforts of Executive Director Peg Ellsworth, and her staff, whose
involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive
commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of
excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the institution and the
community it serves; and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges the MARK Project's success, recognizes its contributions to
the local and state economies, and extends its highest commendation to
the company and its employees, fully confident that, in its future, it
will enjoy the same success which has so characterized its past; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the MARK Project Inc. upon the occasion of celebrating its 40th
Anniversary on May 27, 2018; and be it further


RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Peg Ellsworth, executive director, MARK Project Inc.
