Assembly Resolution No. 173

COMMENDING A&D Transport Services, Inc. upon the
occasion of its designation as recipient of the NBT
Distinguished Business of the Year Award by the
Otsego County Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses that contribute
substantially to the economic vitality of their communities, thereby
enhancing the economic well-being of the entire Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend A&D Transport Services upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the NBT Distinguished Business of the Year Award by the
Otsego County Chamber of Commerce, to be recognized at its Annual Spring
Dinner celebrating "Sustainable Success in Otsego County" on Tuesday,
March 28, 2017, at SUNY Oneonta; and

WHEREAS, Since 1986, the Otsego County Chamber of Commerce has
served the businesses and communities of Otsego County with programs and
services designed to foster strong economic growth and make the county a
great place to live and work; and

WHEREAS, A&D Transport Services was established in 1996, shortly
after its owners Alan Rubin and David Freed graduated from SUNY Oneonta;
and

WHEREAS, In 2016, A&D Transport Services added a wheelchair transit
disabled division as a complement to the services provided in 12
counties; and

WHEREAS, Today, this illustrious business provides employment to
more than 150 people and offers 24-hour taxi service, including
transport services related to healthcare in rural areas; and

WHEREAS, Continual business reinvestment allows A&D Transport
Services to support growth, innovative technology and overall focus on
the enhancement of the customer service experience; and

WHEREAS, Over its distinguished 21 year history, A&D Transport
Services has demonstrated continuous service to the residents and
communities which it serves; and

WHEREAS, The success of A&D Transport Services is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its staff, whose involvement is, and
always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all
endeavors on behalf of the organization and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to A&D Transport Services;
and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business, its contributions to the local
and state economies, and its vibrant role in improving the quality of
life in its community, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy
the sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend A&D Transport Services, Inc. upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the NBT Distinguished Business of the Year
Award by the Otsego County Chamber of Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to A&D Transport Services, Inc.
