CELEBRATING the life of Arline Vordermeier,
beloved mother, grandmother, and pillar in her
community

WHEREAS, It is with feelings of deepest regret that this Legislative
Body records the passing of Arline Vordermeier, an extraordinary woman
of indomitable faith and dedication whose purposeful life will long
serve as a standard to which others might aspire; and

WHEREAS, Arline Vordermeier of Bellmore, New York, died on Monday,
April 3, 2017, at the age of 82; and

WHEREAS, Arline Vordermeier was born to the former Evelyn Hussy and
Theodore Dziewiontkowski on April 19, 1934, in Queens, New York; and

WHEREAS, This outstanding women showed great strength and
selflessness, as well as spent countless hours offering her love,
support and guidance to the children and people in her life, acting as a
role model and inspiring them to develop to their fullest potential; and

WHEREAS, Arline Vordermeier was a devoted single mother who proudly
raised three children with the help of her loving parents; with a loving
and full heart, she taught her children to be kind, to laugh long and
loud, and to be wholly independent; she also instilled in them a great
work ethic which enabled them to be happy and successful; and

WHEREAS, Many years later, Arline married her second husband, Fred
Vordermeier who truly loved her family as his own; and

WHEREAS, With her dynamic and effervescent personality, Arline
Vordermeier lit up the room when she walked in; with her bright and warm
smile and her contagious laughter, she instantly made everyone around
her feel welcome and comfortable; and

WHEREAS, Arline Vordermeier had a quick sense of humor and a keen
mind and enjoyed showing her feisty side when she joined in friendly
debates about current topics with her family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Predeceased by her parents, Evelyn and Theodore
Dziewiontkowski; her grandson, Robert Holzhauer; and her brother, John
Dziewiontkowski; Arline Vordermeier is survived by her two loving sons,
Richard Holzhauer and Steven Holzhauer; one cherished daughter, Janet
Holzhauer; seven treasured grandchildren, Richard, Jessie, Thomas,
Christopher, Robert, Thomas and Dawn; and two great-grandchildren,
Robert and Rylee; and

WHEREAS, Through her boundless love and profound words of wisdom,
Arline Vordermeier's legacy of true grace and luminous beauty, inside
and out, will shine on through her family's vivid and happy memories;
her shining light and strength will forever serve as a beacon of love
and hope for all who were privileged to have known and loved such an
amazing and dynamic woman; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
celebrate the life of Arline Vordermeier, beloved mother, grandmother,
and pillar in her community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Arline Vordermeier.
