COMMENDING Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Otsego BOCES
upon the occasion of celebrating the 100th
Anniversary of its Career and Technical Education
program

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those organizations which are committed to enhancing the
quality of education in the State of New York, and which enable our
schools to offer excellent educational programs in the most efficient
manner; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Delware-Chenango-Madison-Ostego BOCES upon the occasion of
celebrating the 100th Anniversary of its Career and Technical Education
program; and

WHEREAS, This momentous occasion will be recognized with a two-day
celebration at its Business Reception and Open House on Wednesday, May
24, 2017, at its Chenango Campus in Norwich, New York, and on Thursday,
May 25, 2017, at its Harrold Campus in Sidney Center, New York; and

WHEREAS, The Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Otsego (DCMO) Board of
Cooperative Educational Services is a regional educational agency
providing services in partnership with 16 local school districts; and

WHEREAS, DCMO BOCES is one of 37 across New York State working in
collaboration with local school districts to offer programs to students
and teachers, as well as administrators, and the community; and

WHEREAS, Established in 1917, the DCMO BOCES Career and Technical
Education (CTE) program remains committed to enhancing the job
performance and satisfaction of its members, as well as to increasing
public awareness and appreciation for career and technical programs; and

WHEREAS, DCMO BOCES Career and Technical Education program has been
instrumental in the success of its high school students by keeping them
more engaged with better overall educational performance and higher
graduation rates; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, its postsecondary CTE program fosters
postsecondary completion and prepares its students for in-demand
careers; the program also addresses the needs of high-growth industries
and helps close the skills gap; and

WHEREAS, The success of the DCMO BOCES Career and Technical
Education program is in direct correlation to the efforts of its staff,
whose involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an
impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising
standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the organization
and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Otsego BOCES upon the occasion of
celebrating the 100th Anniversary of its Career and Technical Education
program; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Otsego BOCES.
