CONGRATULATING Captain Brian J. Hoesl upon the
occasion of his retirement after 46 years of
distinguished service to Nassau County

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished officers and citizens who would devote
themselves to public service, demonstrating great courage and diligence
in providing for the care and welfare of the citizens of their
communities and this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Within every community of the State of New York there are
certain individuals who, by virtue of their commitment and dedication,
command the respect and admiration of their community for their
exemplary contributions and service on behalf of others; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate
Captain Brian J. Hoesl upon the occasion of his retirement after 46
years of distinguished service to Nassau County; this momentous occasion
will be celebrated with a party held in his honor and hosted by the
Nassau County Police Department Superior Officers Association on
Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at the Westbury Manor in Westbury, New York; and

WHEREAS, In 1971, Brian J. Hoesl began his illustrious career in law
enforcement with the Garden City Police Department; in 1982, he
transferred to the Nassau County Police Department; after 35 years of
dedicated service, he will officially retire on Thursday, April 27,
2017; and

WHEREAS, A true leader, Brian J. Hoesl held the title of President
of the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association from 1971-1982, and the Nassau
County Police Department Superior Officers Association from 1996-2017;
and

WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Linda Hoesl, and
their three children, Kristin, Karin, and Gregory, who have all shown
him love and support and rejoice in his many achievements; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
dedicated public servants who unselfishly devote their lives to the
preservation of order and the protection of others are worthy and due
full praise for their commitment and noble endeavors; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Captain Brian J. Hoesl upon the occasion of his retirement
after 46 years of distinguished service to Nassau County; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Captain Brian J. Hoesl.
