HONORING Muranda Cheese Company upon the occasion
of its designation as Business of the Year by the
Seneca County Chamber of Commerce on January 19,
2018
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses that contribute
substantially to the economic vitality of their communities, thereby
enhancing economic well-being of the entire Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Muranda Cheese Company upon the occasion of its designation as Business
of the Year by the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce, to be celebrated
at its Annual Dinner Meeting on Friday, January 19, 2018, at Club 86,
Geneva, New York; and
WHEREAS, Tom and Nancy Murray have been raising some of the world's
most well-known Registered Holsteins for more than two decades; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, generations of Muranda Registered Holsteins
have been bred and cared for in Waterloo, New York, by the Murray
family; their Muranda Holsteins have earned accolades for their
conformation and their milk, including the Dairy of Distinction Award,
Super Milk Award for 17 years, and the Progressive Breeders Herd
designation; and
WHEREAS, In 1997, one of the Murray's Muranda cows set the world
record for milk production, an extraordinary achievement it held for 13
years; and
WHEREAS, The Muranda Cheese Company was created ten years ago by the
Murrays to showcase how high quality milk could create exquisite
cheeses; a fitting complement to the fine wines of the Finger Lakes,
their cheeses have been featured at a number of the region's finest
establishments; and
WHEREAS, The dairy at Muranda Cheese Company brings in a different
aspect of the business, offering its products at corporate events,
weddings and business meetings; and
WHEREAS, Expanding its operation over the past decade, the Murray
family has grown the business from a few specialty cheeses, to a full
flight of cheeses presented in several renowned wineries and restaurants
in the Region; and
WHEREAS, Over its distinguished history, Muranda Cheese Company has
demonstrated continuous service to the residents and communities which
it serves; and
WHEREAS, The success of Muranda Cheese Company is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its hardworking and dedicated staff, whose
involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive
commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of
excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the business and the community
it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business, its contributions to the local
and state economies, and its vibrant role in improving the quality of
life in its community, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy
the sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Muranda Cheese Company upon the occasion of its designation as
Business of the Year by the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce on January
19, 2018; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Tom and Nancy Murray, Muranda Cheese Company, Waterloo,
New York.
