HONORING Matthew Coville upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the SUNY Oneonta 2017
Intern of the Year Award by the Otsego County
Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are assets beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Matthew Coville has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate
Matthew Coville upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
SUNY Oneonta 2017 Intern of the Year Award by the Otsego County Chamber
of Commerce, to be celebrated at its Small Business Banquet on Thursday,
November 16, 2017, at The Otesaga Resort Hotel, Cooperstown, New York;
and

WHEREAS, Now in its 31st year, the Otsego County Chamber of Commerce
has served the businesses and communities of Otsego County with programs
and services designed to foster strong economic growth and make the
county a great place to live and work; it is proud to be a vibrant and
active organization which strives to evolve and adapt to the changing
needs of the business community; and

WHEREAS, The SUNY Oneonta Intern of the Year Award is presented to
an intern who exemplifies the hands-on work, training and skill building
which will make him or her a highly successful employee in preparation
for entering the workforce; and

WHEREAS, As an intern for Carriage House Art Studio, Matthew Coville
created official releases, documents and permission forms, and provided
curatorial assistance for a major show, CANO/CHAS 2012-2017, which took
place from August 5-20, 2017; and

WHEREAS, In addition, Matthew Coville prepared and taught engaging
art classes for children ages 5-12; and

WHEREAS, Matthew Coville is truly a credit to his family, his
school, his community, his State and his Nation, and no doubt his future
will be filled with accomplishments of equal importance; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Matthew Coville, that future generations may know and appreciate his
admirable character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Matthew Coville upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the SUNY Oneonta 2017 Intern of the Year Award by the Otsego County
Chamber of Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Matthew Coville.
